Required qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology (PhD or PsyD), clinical emphasis
• Active North Carolina psychologist license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency in psychological and neuropsychological assessment and interpretation
• Experience in correctional, forensic, or high-security behavioral health settings preferred

Core responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, including cognitive and personality testing
• Assess medical decision-making and competency/capacity as requested
• Diagnose mental health disorders using established assessment tools and clinical judgment
• Provide individual and group therapy as indicated by treatment plans
• Consult with facility mental health leadership, clinical staff, and external providers regarding treatment and risk management
• Interpret assessment findings and produce clear, actionable recommendations
• Document all clinical encounters and assessments in HERO (EMR) in a timely, compliant manner

• Maintain professional licensure and required certifications throughout contract term
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in a correctional environment
• Adhere to institutional policies, confidentiality, and security protocols
