Job Description
Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing services to students at a school in Mount Vernon, New York. The ideal candidate will work closely with the school administration to provide nursing services to students, including medically fragile students who require skilled nursing services, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.

Requirements:
- Valid RN or LPN License under NY state law, inclusive of state education department licensing requirements.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience providing nursing services, preferably in school districts or similar settings.
- Experience with medically fragile student population is strongly preferred.
- Any relevant certification (s).
Responsibilities:
- Perform injury and illness assessment
- Providing skilled nursing services to students, including medically fragile students, as prescribed by physicians, IEPs, or 504 plans.
- Performing care, cleaning, and maintenance of medical equipment and devices including: Feeding tubes,Tracheotomies,Colostomy bags,Oxygen tanks and related respiratory support equipment, IV medication administration and Oral medication administration
- Administering, maintaining, and assisting with medical interventions that are medically necessary during the school day or during transportation, as required.
- Monitoring student health status and responding to medical needs or emergencies.
- Supporting continuity of care for students with chronic or complex medical needs.
- Preparing and submitting all required reports, testing data, and observation notes.
- Providing documentation needed for Medicaid billing or other reporting (billing itself is not expected).
- Coordinating all nursing services with the Director of Special Education or their designee.
- Serving assigned students in both in-district and out-of-district locations as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
