Locum Hematology & Oncology Physician – Inpatient/Outpatient, Eureka CA (Feb 2026 Start)

Join a Hematology & Oncology team in Eureka, CA, covering both inpatient and outpatient services on a locum tenens basis. This role provides supplemental coverage starting Feb 1, 2026 and continuing thereafter. The clinic is attached to a chemotherapy treatment center and the hospital, with lab and x-ray onsite and Epic as the EMR.

Schedule and call

• Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch), 5 shifts per week
• Call: Phone-only (no on-site callbacks) for nights and weekends, typically one week every three
• Patient volume: 12–15 adults per day
• Expected start: March 2026 if there are any credentialing issues or an unclean record

Practice mix and team

• Case mix: roughly 30% hematology, 70% oncology
• Procedures: outpatient and inpatient hematology/oncology; participation in tumor board
• Support staff: 9–10 RNs, 3 APPs, 4 MAs, and 7 office staff
• Other clinicians: 3 physicians in the practice (Hem/Onc & Radiation Onc) and 3 mid-levels
• Facilities: 8 exam rooms; oncology clinic attached to chemo center and hospital

Requirements

• Active California medical license
• BC/BE in Hematology & Oncology
• BLS certification
• At least 2 years of recent hospital clinical activity in the specialty
• Explain any gaps longer than 3 months; current case logs required
• Clean record preferred
