Location: Albuquerque, NM | Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 6 weeks
Schedule: Mon, Wed, Fri • 07:00 AM–07:30 PM | Local Rate: $1,012 / 36 hours

Position Overview:
Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of RNs and physicians in a fast-paced clinical setting. This contract LPN role involves medication and wound management, monitoring vital signs, documentation, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Required Credentials:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for New Mexico (or applicable state)
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on nursing care including medication administration, wound care, and routine assessments.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting appropriately.
  • Evaluate, cleanse, dress, and monitor wounds and incision sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Continuously monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, home care, and preventive health measures.
  • Manage IV therapy as indicated: insertion assistance, administration of IV meds/fluids, and ongoing line monitoring.
  • Provide catheter care, perform collections of blood/urine/sputum specimens for lab testing, and monitor for complications.
  • Assist with patient positioning, mobility, comfort measures, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support when needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including proper PPE use and safe handling/disposal of medical supplies and medications.
  • Collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and support staff to coordinate care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs as assigned.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs and support wellness initiatives (vaccination, screenings).
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and adhere to regulatory and facility policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
