Seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage at an acute-care hospital in Lewisburg, PA. Coverage begins January 2026 and is ongoing. Clinical and call responsibilities primarily in the operating room and ASC.

Schedule and Coverage

• Shifts: Monday–Friday; 8-hour (7a–3p), 10-hour (7a–5p), and 24-hour (7a–7a) rotations
• Call: Beeper; weekday call Monday–Thursday (no Fridays); approximately 2 weeks per month; call duties shared equally

Patient Population and Case Mix

• Ages: Pediatrics (12 months+) through geriatrics
• Volume: ~600 surgical cases/month, ~40 endoscopy cases/month, ~700 deliveries/year
• Case types: Bariatric, breast, general, OB/GYN, plastics, orthopedics with heavy regional anesthesia emphasis; no trauma, neuro, or cardiac cases

Facility and Support

• 131-bed department with 13 ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 2 cath labs
• EMR: Epic (Epic charting experience required)
• Support: 20 CRNAs (24-hour in-house coverage) and 9 physicians; CRNA supervision/medical direction expected
• Specialty backup available

Privileges, Credentialing, and Compliance

• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline approximately 60–90 days
• Malpractice coverage, travel, and lodging provided

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Active PA license or IMLC (facility will assist with licensing)
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• DEA registration and Pennsylvania CSR
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Proven regional anesthesia experience (heavy ortho focus)
• NPI/name must be clear; flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID exemptions allowed

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide general and regional anesthesia in OR and ASC settings
• Supervise CRNAs under 100% medical direction
• Participate in weekday call rotation and departmental duties
• Complete required orientation and Epic training

Procedures Performed

• General anesthesia and regional anesthesia
• Anesthesia for bariatric, breast, general, OB/GYN, orthopedic, and plastic surgery cases
