Coverage period: ASAP – Ongoing
Schedule: 24-hour call; every 3rd weekend rotation (Friday night through Monday morning)
Coverage reason: Supplemental; may cover staff PTO when dates identified
Clinical volume and case mix
- Annual TCV volume: ~400 pumps
- Case mix: Cardiothoracic surgery (CTHS)
- Phone consults: ~2–3/day
- Typical cases/procedures required:
- Aortic dissections
- Emergency ECMO / Impella initiation/management
- Occasional CABG and cardiac trauma consults
- Elective CABG/valve consults can be deferred to primary TCV surgeons after the weekend
Logistics
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Required credentials/documents
- Hawaii medical license or IMLC eligibility
- Board certified (BC)
- ACLS
- CSR/CDS
- DEA
- Up-to-date health immunizations/vaccination dates
- Recent NPDB report
- Curriculum vitae in MM/YYYY format
- Explanations required for any gaps of 30+ days
