Locum Tenens Radiation Oncologist — Richlands, VA (Dec 24, 2025+)

We’re seeking a Radiation Oncology physician to provide supplemental clinical coverage in Richlands, VA. This locum tenens role supports both inpatient and outpatient care on a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) beginning December 24, 2025 and continuing on an ongoing basis.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage a patient panel of about 12–15 patients per day, with rounding included.
• Deliver external beam radiation therapy using an Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator and perform treatment planning and delivery across a range of techniques including conventional/conformal therapy, 3D CRT, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS.
• Utilize PET/CT or MRI image fusion, beam shaping with MLCs, electronic portal imaging (EPI), and standard treatment planning tools.
• Document care in the MediTech EMR and collaborate with department staff to coordinate treatments and follow-up.

Clinical environment and support

• Facility: Hospital-based department with 3 beds.
• Service setting: Inpatient and outpatient.
• Support team: 2 RNs, 1 MA, and 2 office staff.
• Equipment and systems: Elekta Versa HD, GE Discovery RT Sim, Monoco treatment planning system, MIMS contouring station.
• Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available to expedite start.
• Travel, lodging, and and malpractice insurance are provided.

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology.
