Join a supportive team in Walla Walla, WA, providing both inpatient and outpatient general surgery coverage on a locum tenens basis. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., full time, starting March 2, 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. This role is clinical only and focused primarily on adult patients (about 99%) with a small pediatric component (1%).
What you’ll do:
- Assist in the OR as an experienced first assist.
- Round on inpatients (average census ~7).
- Handle admissions and help coordinate discharges and post-op care.
- Collaborate closely with 3 surgicalists, 1 APP, and the support staff on site.
Practice details:
- Service setting: 99% inpatient, 1% outpatient
- Typical daily workload: ~1 surgery and ~1 admission
- Total hospital beds: 142; Trauma Level III
- Onsite lab and X‑ray; EMR: Epic
- Physicians in practice: 3 surgicalists; mid-levels: 1 APP
Logistics & coverage:
- Hospital privileges required
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered
Requirements:
- Active WA license or participation in IMLC
- Board certified
- DEA registration
- Proven experience as a first assist in general surgery
