Locums Wound Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive wound care services in an outpatient clinic setting in Batavia, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be skilled in evaluating, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic wounds while educating patients and families on proper care techniques. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule with flexibility for partial weekly availability.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic wounds in an outpatient setting.
• Perform wound treatments including debridement, incision and drainage, topical therapies, Unna Boot application, negative-pressure wound therapy, and post-surgical incision management.
• Manage and treat vascular, pressure, diabetic, traumatic, surgical, and non-healing wounds.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on wound care, dressing techniques, and ulcer prevention.
• Implement preventative measures to reduce skin breakdown and ulcer incidence.
• Supervise Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as needed.

• Acute wounds (inflammatory, proliferative, remodeling phases)
• Surgical wounds and surgical non-healing wounds
• Traumatic wounds (scrapes, punctures, tears, incisions, burns)
• Ulcers: arterial, venous insufficiency, pressure, diabetic
• Chronic venous insufficiency
• Pilonidal cysts
• Gangrene
• Radiation injury
• Burns

• Bioengineered skin applications
• Debridement
• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
• Incision and drainage

Qualifications

 

• Active Ohio PA or NP license
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred, especially for HBO supervision
