**Chair of Hospital Medicine Opening in New York**
Located in Albany & Troy, NY
A rare leadership opportunity is available for a seasoned Hospital Medicine physician to serve as Chair of Hospital Medicine, guiding hospitalist teams across two major hospitals in the Capital Region. This role is ideal for a dynamic, strategic, and collaborative leader who is passionate about elevating inpatient care and driving system-wide excellence.
**About the Opportunity**
-Lead hospitalist teams at two flagship hospitals serving Albany, Troy, and surrounding communities
-Position split: 80% administrative leadership / 20% clinical (one hospitalist shift per week)
-Guide quality, safety, and performance initiatives across inpatient services
-Shape service-line strategy, staffing models, and clinical best practices
-Serve on key governance committees and act as a central liaison between inpatient and ambulatory operations
-Oversee recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance improvement
-Collaborate closely with executive leadership to advance organizational goals
-Contribute clinically through weekly shifts and participation in codes, consultations, and patient care
**Compensation & Benefits**
-Guaranteed base salary: $370,000
-Comprehensive benefits package

-457(d) retirement plan
-Paid malpractice insurance
-Relocation allowance available
-Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility
**Candidate Requirements**
-Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
-Minimum 5 years of hospitalist experience
-Leadership experience strongly preferred
-Demonstrated success in team management and quality improvement
-Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
-Commitment to mission-driven, patient-centered care
