Locums Anesthesia Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity at a hospital-based practice in Hopewell, Virginia. This position supports inpatient anesthesia services with required on-call responsibilities and coverage across three local facilities.

 

Position Overview:

 

• Practice Setting: Hospital – Inpatient
• Schedule: Full-time locum coverage with on-call shifts required
• On Call: Yes
• Cross-Credentialing: Required at three affiliated hospital sites 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for inpatient surgical procedures
• Participate in pre-operative assessments and post-anesthesia care
• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia services
• Respond to emergency situations requiring anesthesia care
• Take in-house and beeper call coverage as scheduled 

Qualifications:

 

• Medical Degree from an accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology and actively participating in Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
• Current Virginia medical license or ability to obtain one
• Active DEA and CSR licenses required
• Previous experience in hospital inpatient anesthesia preferred
• Must be able to work on-call shifts and be cross-credentialed at all designated sites
