Job Details
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
Schedule: 8am–12pm, Monday–Friday
Daily Procedures: 5–10 hospital-based GI procedures
No clinic responsibilities
Call to follow onsite hours (beeper call)
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Call Back: ~20%
Patients Seen: 5–20 per shift
Admissions: 2–10
Practice Setting: Inpatient + Outpatient
Patient Volume: 10–20 per shift
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: 5 RNs
Temporary privileges available (next-day possible)

Requirements
Board Eligible/Certified Gastroenterologist
Active AZ license and AZ DEA
ACLS and BLS
Must have a clean background
No APP supervision or teaching required

Skills
Required: Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeder fulguration, variceal injection), PEG, small bowel biopsy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible & rigid), colonoscopy (biopsy & polypectomy)
Required: Diagnostic & therapeutic ERCP
Preferred: Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion/management
