Primary Responsibilities
- Review prior authorizations and appeals for medical necessity
- Conduct peer-to-peer provider reviews
- Provide clinical oversight for utilization management (UM), disease management, and quality management
- Develop and maintain medical policies, clinical guidelines, and coverage rules
- Analyze provider performance data and review provider applications and quality concerns
- Oversee clinical aspects of pharmacy benefit coordination and fraud, waste, and abuse
- Participate in regulatory interactions with state/local agencies and serve on managed care committees
- Support development and monitoring of annual organizational goals
- Evaluate and improve job design, workflows, and operational processes
- Apply medical knowledge within operational and business environments
- Interpret and apply Texas Medicaid regulations as required
- Demonstrate leadership, communication, and managed-care–oriented skills
Qualifications
- Active Texas medical license, or willingness to obtain
- Board certified in OB/GYN
- Clean malpractice and medical license history
