Locum Tenens Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) — Syracuse, NY, Feb–May 2026

We’re looking for a Cardiovascular Surgery PA to join a busy inpatient team in Syracuse, NY, on a locum tenens basis from Feb 1 to May 1, 2026. You’ll be working Monday–Friday, roughly 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., covering IP cardiac surgery, the OR, and the ICU/step-down floor. In addition to daytime clinical coverage you’ll pick up beeper call about 1–2 evenings per week on a 1:7 rotation (exact call days to be determined).

Typical responsibilities include first assisting in the OR, inserting chest tubes, and retrieving vascular tissue for bypass conduits. The patient population is adult; volume varies. The supervising physician will be present during the assignment. The facility uses Epic and is a Level II trauma center.

Required credentials and skills:

• Active New York license
• Board Certified (NCCPA)
• BLS and ACLS
• Prior cardiac surgery experience (operating room first assist, vein harvest, etc.)
• Robotic experience is a plus

This role is supplemental coverage for an inpatient surgical service and includes both clinical duties and call.
