Requirements:
- Active RN license in the practicing state.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred or required depending on facility.
- Prior experience in endoscopy, GI lab, PACU, or procedural nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment, IV skills, and ability to monitor sedation.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for endoscopic and special procedures, including assessments and education.
- Assist physicians during procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP, and other interventions.
- Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and safety throughout the procedure.
- Administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol.
- Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain equipment, ensure proper infection control, and uphold safety standards.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
