We’re seeking an experienced electrophysiologist to cover both outpatient and hospital-based EP services in Canton, Ohio from January 23 to April 24, 2026. This locum tenens opportunity includes clinical duties plus call coverage and is set up as a Friday-to-Friday schedule with six weeks of coverage needed during the assignment window.

Schedule and call

  • Clinical shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • Night call: Monday–Friday
  • Weekend call: 24-hour coverage on weekends (Friday to Friday schedule)
  • Call type: beeper
  • Call ratio and response time: to be determined

Clinical scope and patient mix

  • Adult and geriatric patients
  • Inpatient admissions and hospital rounding required
  • Outpatient consults and procedures in the EP lab
  • Phone consults as needed
  • Case mix: full-spectrum electrophysiology care, including procedures and remote device management

Facility and support

  • Trauma designation: Level II
  • EMR: Epic preferred
  • On-site: standard EP cardiology equipment, clinical and procedural support staff
  • Specialty backup: cardiology and hospital-based support services available

  • Electrophysiology studies
  • Catheter ablation
  • Cardioversion
  • Implantable cardiac devices
  • Syncope evaluations
  • Remote monitoring device services
  • Genetic testing

Credentials and compliance

  • Ohio medical license required (IMLC accepted with a clean background)
  • Board certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology
  • DEA registration required
  • Ohio CSR required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available with clean background

Responsibilities

  • Deliver EP cardiology services in both outpatient clinic and hospital settings
  • Perform EP procedures and diagnostics, manage EP lab duties
  • Conduct inpatient rounding and outpatient consultations
  • Participate in scheduled night and weekend call rotations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR and follow department/hospital protocols

Experience and other notes

  • Prior electrophysiology experience expected
  • Willingness to obtain Ohio licensure if necessary
  • Teaching hospital experience is not required
