Join a hospice inpatient team in Grand Junction, CO on a contract/travel basis. This night-shift role (7p–7a) starts ASAP and offers $1,976 for a 36-hour assignment.

Requirements:

  • Current RN license in Colorado.
  • 1–2 years of nursing experience; hospice or palliative care preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate approach to end-of-life care and family support.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Core responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor patient condition, vital signs, and symptoms; document changes accurately.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospice policies.
  • Provide symptom management, end-of-life care, and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Educate families on the dying process, pain management, and comfort measures.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other team members.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and staff education initiatives as needed.
