Join a growing outpatient endocrine practice in Blackfoot, Idaho, to develop and lead a Diabetes Center of Excellence. This permanent, clinical-only role includes a medical directorship and is ideal for an endocrinologist who wants to build a program, work closely with a multidisciplinary team, and expand access to endocrine care in the region.
Schedule and Coverage
- Full-time outpatient position with flexible scheduling: either 4x10s or 5x8s.
- No call and no on-call coverage required.
- Start date: ASAP, ongoing need.
Who you’ll care for
- Adult and geriatric patients.
- Primary diagnoses include diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and other metabolic conditions.
- Outpatient-focused: no hospital admissions or rounding responsibilities; limited phone consults.
Facility and team
- Outpatient clinic setting affiliated with a non-profit critical access hospital.
- Well-equipped for diabetes care with education tools, pharmacy support, and nutrition services.
- Collaborative support from primary care, dietitians, pharmacists, nurse educators, RNs, diabetes educators, and administrative staff.
- Opportunity to design and grow a new program.
Privileges, credentialing, and compliance
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available.
- Credentialing timeline: up to 3060 days.
- DEA required; Idaho license or eligibility to obtain one.
Compensation and benefits
- Nationally competitive salary plus medical director stipend.

Required skills and qualifications
- BC/BE in Endocrinology.
- Clinical endocrinology experience; leadership experience preferred.
- BLS certification required.
Primary duties
- Build and direct the Diabetes Center of Excellence.
- Provide high-quality outpatient endocrine care (diabetes, thyroid, osteoporosis/metabolic evaluations).
- Lead quality improvement, education initiatives, and program development.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to expand endocrine services across the region.
