Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice.
- Minimum 2–3 years of acute care nursing experience (supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred).
- BLS and ACLS required; additional certifications per facility may apply.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to make rapid decisions, manage crises, and coordinate multiple priorities.
- Experience with patient flow management and hospital operations preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and clinical oversight to nursing staff across all units during the shift.
- Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, to maintain appropriate staffing and bed management.
- Serve as the acting administrator-on-duty, addressing operational issues, staff concerns, and patient or family needs.
- Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and critical events, offering support and direction.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
- Assess staffing needs and reassign personnel as needed to maintain safe patient ratios.
- Support clinical teams with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and escalation management.
- Document incidents, staffing decisions, and operational concerns and communicate with leadership.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and efficient environment for staff and patients.
