Clinical Responsibilities / Required Procedures

• General adult, pediatric and trauma surgery coverage
• Laparoscopic surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs
• Chest wall/pleural procedures; chest tube placement
• GI endoscopy: upper and lower endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy
• Central venous access, PA catheter placement, vascular access devices
• If credentialed in pediatric surgery: repair of atresias (intestinal & biliary), abdominal wall defects, umbilical defects/hernias, diaphragmatic hernia repair, imperforate anus repair, PDA ligation

Requirements / Credentials

• Active New Mexico medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
• New Mexico controlled substance registration
• DEA registration
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications
