Join a COC‑accredited Cancer Center in Las Cruces, NM to provide outpatient hematology/oncology locum tenens coverage. This supplemental clinical role begins ASAP and continues on an ongoing basis. Duties include outpatient clinic care, rounding, supervising APPs, and participating in a shared call schedule.
Key details:
- Service setting: Outpatient (oncology co‑located with radiation oncology)
- Coverage type: Clinical + call; Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Call: 1:2 beeper call with 24‑hour weekend call and some weekday call shared with employed providers; 20‑minute response expectation
- Patient volume: Up to 17 patients per shift; ~2 phone consults/day; ~1 admission/day
- Support team: 5 RNs, 1 MA, 1 PA/NP; required to supervise APPs
- Facility: 18‑bed chemo suite; minimal ED consults; Phase II and III clinical trials available; weekly tumor boards
- EMR: MediTech and Mosaiq
- Hospital privileges: Required
- Travel, lodging, and and malpractice insurance: Covered
Requirements:
- Board certified/board eligible in Hematology/Oncology
- Active medical license (any U.S. state accepted)
- BLS certification
If you’re comfortable managing chemotherapy patients in an outpatient oncology practice and supporting a multidisciplinary cancer program, this role offers a well‑supported clinical environment with access to clinical trials and tumor board collaboration.
