Requirements: Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution. Current, active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic settings. Strong understanding of DSM-5, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and trauma-informed care. Ability to work effectively within a secure facility and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for incarcerated individuals with mental health needs. Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities. Deliver crisis intervention, suicide prevention assessments, and stabilization services as needed. Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, documenting all clinical activities in compliance with facility and state standards. Case Management & Coordination Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, correctional officers, and other interdisciplinary team members. Coordinate referrals for specialized mental health services or outside resources as appropriate. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and mental health rounds. Support inmates with reentry planning, connecting them to community resources, housing, and ongoing mental health care. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential inmate clinical records. Ensure compliance with state licensing standards, correctional regulations, HIPAA, and PREA guidelines. Contribute to facility audits, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development. Education & Support Provide psychoeducation to inmates on mental health symptoms, coping skills, substance use, and relapse prevention. Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff on managing inmates with mental health needs. Promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative environment within the correctional system.
