LPN — Correctional Medicine (7a–7:30p, Cleveland, OH)

Join a correctional medicine team in Cleveland, OH on a contract/travel assignment. This daytime position (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.) begins ASAP and offers $1,548 per 36-hour week.

Requirements:

• Active LPN/LVN license in Ohio.
• At least 1 year recent clinical experience (correctional, long-term care, clinic, or med-surg preferred).
• BLS certification.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a secure environment and manage patients with complex medical and behavioral needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct basic nursing assessments and ongoing patient monitoring.
• Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and provide wound care per protocols.
• Support intake screenings, triage, routine evaluations, and chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, mental health).
• Respond to urgent and emergent situations within the correctional setting.
• Accurately document care in the health record and report changes to RNs or providers.
• Adhere to infection control, facility policies, and safety/security procedures.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, mental health staff, and correctional officers.
• Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and self-care.
• Assist with daily clinical tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and appointment coordination.
