Rate: Travel: $1,523/36 hrs; Local: $1,174/36 hrs
Minimum Requirements:
- Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL assistance.
- Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Administer and document medications and treatments per orders and facility protocols.
- Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records.
- Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines and IV medication/fluid administration when within scope of practice.
- Care for urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) per protocol.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
- Provide patient/family education on conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control standards and proper use of PPE.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies.
- Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
- Advocate for patient rights and coordinate with the healthcare team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff).
- May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
