We’re seeking an experienced LPN to join a team in Bloomfield, NM for an 11-week contract starting ASAP. This is a night-shift position (Tue–Thu, 5:00 PM–5:30 AM). Competitive pay: Travel: $1,523/36 hrs; Local: $1,242/36 hrs.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction — medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine assessments.
  • Perform focused physical assessments, review medical histories and current meds, and help develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and according to facility protocols.
  • Clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation of care, treatments, and patient responses.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Initiate and monitor IV therapy when required, ensuring IV lines are functioning and cared for properly.
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion assistance, routine maintenance, and monitoring for issues.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate safe, effective care.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly and follow established emergency and BLS protocols.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in accordance with regulations.
  • Support preventive care efforts (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned, ensuring quality care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing practices and facility policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state.
  • Current BLS certification.
