Location: Albuquerque, NM | Job Type: Contract (Local, Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: 06:30 AM–07:00 PM | Rate: $1,012 per 36 hours

Position summary:
Provide skilled practical nursing care under the supervision of RNs and physicians in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will deliver direct patient care, support treatment plans, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Required qualifications:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Accurately administer and document medications and treatments, following protocols and safety standards
  • Monitor wounds, incisions, and overall patient condition for signs of infection or complications; perform dressing changes as needed
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and document results per policy
  • Maintain clear, timely patient records noting condition changes, interventions, and responses to treatment
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as required
  • Follow strict infection control, safe medication handling, and disposal procedures
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care; may supervise CNAs or UAPs when assigned
  • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
