Rate: Local: $1,120/36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction (medication administration, wound care, vital signs).
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately per orders and protocol.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration).
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records of condition changes, treatments, and medications.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line function.
  • Provide care for urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring).
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff for coordinated care.
  • Attend to patient comfort, mobility assistance, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in accordance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Supervise CNAs/UAPs as assigned to ensure quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain clinical competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
