Locum-to-Perm OBGYN (Laborist) — In-House 24-hr Call, Modesto CA

Coverage Period: Jan 1, 2026 – ongoing
Coverage Type: Call only, in-house

Schedule and Response:

• 24-hour call shifts
• Call response time: 7 minutes
• Callback: 25%
• Patient volume on call: 10–15 patients
• Average annual deliveries: ~150
• Admissions required

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Manage low-risk pregnancies and obstetric inpatient care
• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Perform and interpret Level I/screening obstetric ultrasounds (viability)
• Routine and complicated deliveries, including primary/secondary C-section, breech, and placental abruptions
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree perineal lacerations
• Office and minor gynecology procedures: IUD placement/removal, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
• Surgical gynecology as required

Staffing and Resources:

• Department beds: 3
• Support staff: 2 medical assistants, ~20 office staff
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements:

• Active California medical license
• Board Certified (OB/GYN)
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Open to locum-to-perm conversion preferred
