Locum Tenens opportunity in Allen, TX for an OB/GYN physician to provide full-scope outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care in an acute care hospital setting. Coverage runs 13 weeks beginning February 2, 2026.

Schedule

• Clinical: ~2.5 clinic days per week and 1 surgical day per week (equivalent to 23 clinic days + 1 surgery day per week over coverage period)
• Call: 1:4 rotation covering day, night, and weekend shifts; responsible for 24/7 emergency OB/GYN care when on call

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Full-scope OB/GYN practice including outpatient care, inpatient management, and surgery
• Required procedures: cesarean section, D&C, ectopic pregnancy management, and other full-scope OB/GYN procedures
• Manage labor and delivery issues, hemorrhage, pain, high-risk pregnancies, ruptured membranes, and other OB emergencies

Team & Facility

• Acute care hospital with integrated patient engagement technology
• Collaborative care model: work alongside CNMs (who perform most routine deliveries and are trained as surgical first assists), hospitalist CNMs, LCSWs, lactation specialists, and educators
• OB/GYN physician backup coverage provided for CNM hospitalists

Privileges, Compliance & Support

Qualifications

• Active Texas medical license required
• Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active dedicated DEA registration required
• Comfortable managing emergency OB and collaborating within an integrated care team

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient OB/GYN care, including surgical cases
• Participate in the 1:4 call rotation and provide emergency coverage when assigned
• Coordinate care with CNMs and multidisciplinary team members to support patient-centered outcomes
• Utilize available technology and platforms to enhance efficiency and patient engagement
