Requirements:

• Active RN license in Missouri.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS may be required by facility.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience (PACU preferred; ICU, ER, or other critical care acceptable).
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate postoperative care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Continuously monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, pain, and other clinical parameters.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and ordered treatments; titrate and adjust per orders and protocols.
• Assess for and intervene promptly with post-anesthesia complications.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and patient flow.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative expectations and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to PACU protocols, infection-control standards, safety procedures, and participate in emergency response as needed.
