Requirements:

• Current RN license in Missouri
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS may be required by facility
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience (PACU, ICU, ER, or other critical care preferred)
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Effective verbal and written communication; teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate postoperative care for patients recovering from anesthesia
• Monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, and pain continuously
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and ordered treatments; titrate per protocol
• Assess for and respond to post-anesthesia complications and emergencies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record
• Communicate and coordinate care with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on postoperative expectations and discharge instructions
• Adhere to PACU protocols, infection control, and safety procedures
• Support patient flow between OR, PACU, and inpatient units; participate in emergency response as needed
