- Rate: $2,144/40-hours
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS may be required depending on facility.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in PACU, ICU, ER, or critical care.
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate postoperative nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia.
- Continuously monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, and pain levels.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
- Assess for any post-anesthesia complications and respond promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient’s medical record.
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and families about postoperative expectations and discharge instructions.
- Follow PACU protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
- Participate in emergency response activities when needed.
- Support smooth patient flow between surgery, PACU, and inpatient units.
