Locum tenens opportunity in Portage, WI (ASAP start; 26 weeks). Schedule: 07:00 AM–03:30 PM. Rate: $54.90/hr.

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker to provide clinical services within a secure correctional setting. The role involves assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, case coordination, and documentation to support incarcerated individuals’ mental health, safety, and reentry planning.

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited program.
• Current, active LCSW license.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic settings.
• Familiarity with DSM-5, evidence-based therapies, and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to work effectively in a secure facility and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for incarcerated individuals.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
• Deliver crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and short-term stabilization.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in compliance with facility, state, HIPAA, and PREA standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, mental health rounds, and case reviews.

Case Management & Coordination

• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, custody personnel, and community providers.
• Facilitate referrals to specialized services and community resources.
• Support reentry planning by connecting inmates to housing, ongoing mental health care, and social supports.

Compliance, Quality & Education

• Ensure documentation and practice meet licensing, correctional, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement efforts, and policy development.
• Provide psychoeducation to inmates on symptoms, coping strategies, substance use, and relapse prevention.
• Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff to promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative environment.
