Summary
Provide clinical social work services within a secure correctional setting, delivering assessments, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and reentry planning while collaborating with interdisciplinary staff to support inmate mental health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited program.
• Active, unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic settings.
• Proficient in DSM-5 diagnosis, evidence-based therapies, and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to work effectively in a secure facility and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews.
• Create, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for incarcerated individuals.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
• Deliver crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and stabilization services as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and state standards.

Case Management & Coordination

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, custody staff, and other team members.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty services and external community resources.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and mental health rounds.
• Assist with reentry planning, linking inmates to housing, community services, and ongoing mental health care.

Compliance & Quality

• Preserve confidential, timely, and compliant clinical records.
• Ensure adherence to state licensing requirements, correctional regulations, HIPAA, and PREA.
• Support facility audits, quality improvement efforts, and policy development.

Education & Staff Support

• Provide psychoeducation to inmates on symptoms, coping strategies, substance use, and relapse prevention.
• Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff on managing inmates with mental health needs.
• Promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative approach within the correctional environment.
