Join a correctional health team providing mental health services to incarcerated individuals. The role focuses on assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and coordination of care within a secure facility, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and facility standards.

Key Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited institution.
• Current, active LCSW license.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic experience preferred.
• Proficient with DSM-5, evidence-based therapies, and trauma-informed care.
• Able to work effectively in a secure environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for incarcerated clients.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
• Deliver crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and stabilization as needed.
• Monitor treatment progress and document clinical activities in accordance with facility and state standards.

Case Management & Coordination

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, correctional officers, and other team members.
• Coordinate referrals to specialized services and community resources.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and mental health rounds.
• Assist with reentry planning and linkage to housing, community services, and ongoing mental health care.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records.
• Ensure adherence to state licensing requirements, correctional regulations, HIPAA, and PREA.
• Support facility audits, quality improvement efforts, and policy development.

Education & Staff Support

• Provide psychoeducation to clients on symptom management, coping strategies, substance use, and relapse prevention.
• Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff on working with individuals with mental health needs.
• Promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative approach within the correctional setting.
