Required qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (state-specific).
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Cardiology, Telemetry, ICU, or a related cardiac specialty.
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred.
• Proficient in cardiac pharmacology, recognition of cardiac conditions, and telemetry/EKG interpretation.
• Ability to function in fast-paced settings and respond quickly to acute cardiac changes.

Core responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments: monitor heart rhythms, vital signs, and early signs of cardiac compromise.
• Administer cardiac medications (antiarrhythmics, vasodilators, anticoagulants), monitor therapeutic response and adverse effects.
• Operate and interpret cardiac monitoring equipment (telemetry, EKG/ECG, Holter monitors; stress test interpretation as applicable).
• Assist with cardiac procedures: cardioversion, stress testing, cardiac catheterization prep/recovery, device placements (pacemakers, stents).
• Provide post-procedure care: monitor perfusion, circulation, bleeding, and overall recovery.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and participate in rapid response/code blue situations.
