Rate: $2,182 / 36 hours

Requirements:

• Active RN license for the state of Ohio.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience; correctional experience preferred (ER, med-surg, or psych accepted).
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a secure correctional environment and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments for inmates with acute, chronic, and emergent needs.
• Triage sick-call requests and administer medications, treatments, and immunizations.
• Coordinate and assist with provider exams and off-site appointments as needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization per protocols.
• Monitor and manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, mental health).
• Securely handle medical equipment, medications, and controlled substances.
• Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with custody staff to ensure safety, compliance, and patient movement.
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and self-care.
