Professional Summary:
Provide nursing care in a correctional setting, performing assessments, treatments, medication administration, emergency response, and documentation while maintaining security protocols.

Requirements:

• Active RN license for the appropriate state.
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience; correctional, ER, med-surg, or psych preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a secure correctional environment and respond to emergencies.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments for acute, chronic, and emergent inmate health needs.
• Triage sick-call requests and provide appropriate treatment or referral.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations; manage controlled substances per policy.
• Coordinate and assist with provider exams and off-site appointments as required.
• Respond to and stabilize medical emergencies following established protocols.
• Monitor and manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, mental health).
• Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with custody staff to ensure safety, compliance, and secure patient movement.
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and self-care.
