Requirements:
- Active RN license (state-specific).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (correctional, ER, med-surg, or psych preferred).
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- Ability to work in a secure environment and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments for inmates with acute, chronic, and emergent health needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and triage sick-call requests.
- Coordinate and assist with provider visits, exams, and off-site appointments when needed.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization following established protocols.
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, mental health).
- Maintain secure handling of medical equipment, medications, and controlled substances.
- Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with custody staff to ensure safety, compliance, and patient movement.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and self-care.
