Job Description:

Sovah ENT & Allergy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical services in our clinic. This role involves performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating Otolaryngologic conditions, prescribing medications, utilizing specialized medical equipment, and delivering health education to our patients. The ideal candidate will have strong decision-making skills, the ability to operate in a fast-paced clinic setting and become proficient in maintaining electronic medical records.  

  • Perform physical exams, diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatment.  Utilize specialized onsite medical equipment including Tympanometry,  Direct Laryngoscopy and Nasal Endoscopy and Microscopy after training.  
  • Make appropriate referrals to other health care professionals and community resources.  Obtain and review medical history and other pertinent information to determine individual  health needs.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and staff verbally and in writing. 
  • Provide Advanced Life Support in medical emergencies and assist patients in distress until transfer to appropriate level of care.  
  • No call is required.
  • Obtain Sovah Hospital privileges for performing History and Physical for surgeries.
  • Patient scheduled hours are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Thursday with 8:30 to 12:00 on Fridays with administrative time Friday afternoon as needed.  
  • See 18-24 patients a day depending on comfort levels and scheduling requests.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate from an accredited family nurse practitioner program
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Minimal of one year of FNP experience preferred
  • Valid DEA license
  • Current BLS
