Locums OBGYN Physician

We are seeking a Locums OB/GYN Physician to provide in-house coverage at a busy community hospital in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. This role offers a varied schedule, strong nursing support, and the opportunity to work closely with OB/GYN residents in a collegial environment.

 

Compensation: $240 Per Hour

 

Position Details

 

• Call Shifts: 3–4 shifts per month
• Scheduling: Completed 1–2 months in advance
• Coverage Model: 100% in-house (no off-site call)

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM
• 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Weekends:
• 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM

 

Clinical Responsibilities

 

• Cover Labor & Delivery floor and ED OB/GYN consults
• Perform gynecologic emergency surgeries as needed
• Manage laboring patients from sign-out through delivery
• Participate in daily nursing huddles and coordinated care
• Work primarily with an OB/GYN resident; physician functions independently
• Nurses may escalate to backup MDs if additional support is required

 

Patient Volume & Acuity

 

• Average Deliveries: 2–3 per day
• Case Mix: Mostly low-risk with some medium- and high-risk patients
• Nursery Level: Level II
• Gestational Age: Deliveries for patients ≥32 weeks

 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
• Comfortable with in-house solo coverage and emergency GYN cases
• Strong collaborative skills with residents and nursing staff
• Active New Jersey medical license (or ability to obtain)
