Job Description
We are seeking Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) for a part-time locum opportunity in Pennsylvania, with an ongoing need due to turnover.
Position Overview
- Setting: Inpatient
- EMR: Epic
- Privileges: Full, Temporary, and Emergency Privileges Available
- Shifts: (Days) 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and (Nights) 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Coverage: Monday–Sunday (no call)
- Estimated Shifts: 8–10 shifts per month
- Typical procedures/cases include:
Cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma exploratory laparotomy, colon resections, Graham patch repairs, hernia repairs.
No bariatric or foregut cases.
Scope of Practice
Inpatient coverage for the Trauma and Emergency General Surgery service, including:
- Morning rounds
- OR first assisting
- Managing trauma activations
- Emergency General Surgery consults
- Inpatient service management
- Critical care management
Requirements
- NP or PA
- Board Certified
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Pennsylvania license required
- DEA & CSR required
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
