Job Description
We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for Trauma Surgery and Emergency General Surgery coverage in Pennsylvania. This assignment offers flexible scheduling with both day and night shifts—no call required.
Position Overview
- Schedule: Monday to Sunday (no call)
- Shifts: Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Estimated Shifts/Month: 8–10
- Minimum Commitment: 4 shifts/month
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities
- Inpatient coverage for Trauma & Emergency General Surgery (EGS)
- Morning rounds + ongoing inpatient management
- First assisting in the OR
- Managing trauma activations and EGS consults
- Critical care management
- Typical procedures/cases include:
Cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma exploratory laparotomy, colon resections, Graham patch repairs, hernia repairs.
No bariatric or foregut cases.
Requirements
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Active Pennsylvania license required
- DEA & CSR required
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
