Overview
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Newborn Nursery
Responsibilities
Pediatrix is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our Newborn Nursery team at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who enjoys newborn care and values a supportive, collaborative practice environment.The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide highquality care to newborns in our wellbaby nursery, partnering closely with pediatricians, nurses, and the care team to ensure a safe and nurturing start for every infant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Morning rounding in the Newborn Nursery
- Daily evaluation and management of healthy newborns
- Collaboration with pediatricians, nursing staff, and OB teams
- Documentation of newborn exams, care plans, and discharge summaries
- Call coverage from home, with responsibilities limited to phone triage and urgent needs
- Supporting family education and ensuring highquality, familycentered care
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing
- Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNPPrimary Care or PNPAcute Care)
- Active Michigan RN and NP licensure (or eligibility)
- Experience with newborn care preferred
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
