Pediatric Hospitalist Physician - Bakersfield, California

Were seeking a dedicatedPediatric Hospitalistto join our inpatient team in Bakersfield, providing high-quality care for hospitalized children on a7-on/7-off schedule(12- or 24-hour shifts). This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with pediatric specialists and supporting continuity of care across the region.

Position Highlights:

• Serve as thepediatrician of recordduring each hospital stay, coordinating with primary care and specialty providers.

• Oversee admission and discharge processes to ensure safety, timeliness, and cost-effective care.

• Rapidly assess and manage acutely ill children, including coordination of transfers to and from the PICU.

• Teach and mentor pediatric residents during Patient-Centered Rounds.

• Participate in medical staff committees and continuous quality improvement efforts.

• Develop and monitorevidence-based clinical pathwaysto enhance the quality of inpatient care.

Shift Model:

• 7 days on / 7 days off

• Flexible 12-hour or 24-hour shift options

• Continuous on-site hospitalist coverage during scheduled shifts

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatrics

• California medical license (or eligibility to obtain)

• Experience in pediatric inpatient care preferred

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
