Locum tenens opportunity in Cooperstown, NY to provide inpatient cardiac anesthesia care. Assignment runs with orientation beginning March 9, 2026, clinical coverage March 13–June 26, 2026. Coverage includes prime-time clinical shifts within an anesthesia care team model and in-house after-hours call for cardiac cases only.

Clinical scope and volume

• Adult patient population; low-volume cardiac anesthesia program.
• Primary responsibilities: cardiac anesthesia services, with limited general anesthesia during prime-time hours.
• Duties include preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management, postoperative handoffs, phone consults as required, and accurate documentation in Epic.

Facility and team

• Hospital uses Epic EMR.
• Standard anesthesia equipment provided.
• Dedicated cardiac anesthesia team with experienced cardiac CRNA support and specialty backup.
• Reason for opening: urgent coverage need; expedited credentialing required.

Schedule and coverage

• Prime-time clinical shifts with anesthesia care team support.
• In-house after-hours call coverage for cardiac cases only; participation in a 24/7 cardiac anesthesia coverage model expected.

Qualifications and credentials

• Active New York medical license required.
• Board certified in Anesthesiology with cardiac anesthesia experience required.
• Active DEA registration and current certifications required.
• Prior cardiac anesthesiology experience and ability to work within a team-based coverage model.

Compliance, compensation, and logistics

• Hospital privileges required; credentialing will be expedited.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered per locum agreement.
• Telehealth experience not required.
