Patient population and volume:

  • Adults
  • Clinic volume: ~20–22 patients/day
  • Admissions and rounding required
  • Phone consults required
  • Case mix: cardiac electrophysiology / heart rhythm disorders

Facility:

  • 268 hospital beds
  • Trauma Level: Adult Levels I–IV
  • EMR: Cerner
  • EP lab equipment available
  • Specialty backup: cath lab and full hospital services
  • Reason for coverage: supplemental

Required procedures and skills:

  • Cardiac electrophysiology procedures and left-sided ablations
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
  • Moderate sedation (performed independently)
  • Use of Abbott EnSite X mapping system

Credentials and compliance:

  • Active Arizona medical license required (IMLC accepted)
  • Arizona-registered DEA required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Electrophysiology
  • ACLS certification
  • Hospital privileges required; credentialing ~30 days

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year post-training experience
  • Documentation of ≥100 EP cases in the past 2 years, with emphasis on ablations

Duties:

  • Provide EP services in hospital and clinic settings
  • Perform ablations, TEEs, and other EP procedures
  • Manage hospital consults and clinic visits; participate in rounding
  • Document all encounters in Cerner EMR
  • Coordinate with cath lab and hospital teams as needed
