Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner/PA — Toledo, OH (Inpatient, Jan 2026+)

We’re seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join a cardiothoracic surgery team in Toledo, OH, on a locum tenens basis. This is an inpatient role supporting post-op and ICU care for adult and geriatric patients on a Level I trauma service. You’ll work weekdays (Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) with additional clinical responsibilities and a defined call schedule.

What you’ll do

• Provide autonomous patient care on the post-op floor and in the ICU, with a supervising physician who rounds daily and is available by phone 24/7.
• Manage a caseload of about 12 patients, including rounding, pre-op physicals, notes, consults, and discharges.
• Diagnose and treat illnesses, remove sutures, order and interpret tests, and write prescriptions.
• Coordinate patient care across teams and participate in call coverage (10 night calls/month, 4 p.m.–8 a.m.; 2+ weekends/month; some 24-hour call). Call ratio is roughly 1:3.

• Shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8a–4p
• Call: Nights and weekends as listed above
• Coverage type: Clinical plus call; supplemental coverage

Requirements

• Active Ohio license
• Board certified
• BLS and ACLS
• Clean professional record
• Relevant cardiothoracic/acute care training and experience
