Locum Tenens Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist — Inpatient/Outpatient (Harrisburg, PA)

We’re seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage in Harrisburg, PA, working across inpatient and outpatient settings. This is supplemental clinical coverage from March 9 to September 30, 2026. You’ll cover Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and outpatient clinics, seeing primarily children and teens.

Schedule and workload

• 36–40 hours/week: Monday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Tuesday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Typical patient volume: 10–13 per day
• Patient ages: Outpatient 5–23 years; PHP 7–18 years
• Visit timing: Med checks/discharges 30 minutes, step-down visits 60 minutes, new evaluations 90 minutes
• Follow-up to new evaluation ratio typically about 28:7

Clinical scope and responsibilities

• Provide pharmacotherapy and psychotherapeutic interventions (group and family therapy); ECT available/used in system
• Manage a broad range of diagnoses: anxiety, mood/affective, personality, eating, developmental, psychotic, organic disorders, and ADHD/ADD
• Participate in involuntary commitment processes and be familiar with seclusion and restraint procedures
• Work with a 25-bed department using Cerner EMR

Support and logistics

• Clinical-only coverage; you’ll be supported by 3 RNs and 5 administrative/office staff
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided

Requirements

• Active PA medical license or participation via IMLC
• Board certified or board eligible (if BE, within 5 years of residency)
• Fellowship-trained in child & adolescent psychiatry
• Current BLS
