We’re looking for an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join a team in Norfolk, VA on a 13-week contract. This role starts ASAP and follows a night shift schedule (06:30 PM–07:00 AM). If you enjoy hands-on patient care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams, and making a tangible difference in people’s breathing and comfort, this could be a great fit.

What we need from you

• Active, valid Respiratory Therapy state license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

What you’ll be doing

• Assess patients’ respiratory status, including lung function and oxygenation, and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver respiratory treatments and therapies to ease distress and improve function.
• Operate and manage mechanical ventilators, making adjustments based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Provide education and support to patients and families about respiratory conditions and home care.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies promptly and follow established protocols.
• Keep respiratory equipment clean, maintained, and ready for use.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other care team members to coordinate patient care.
• Adhere to infection control practices and quality assurance standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
